IP2022

Highlights of the IP2022 conference we attended at Bournemouth.

The Infection Prevention Society hosted its annual infection prevention conference at the Bournemouth International Centre from the 17th – the 19th of October. We exhibited amongst many other companies, each with their own insights into a range of infection control challenges. From UV to PAA, there was a wide range of available technologies.

Sky Chemicals presented Peracide, our high-level, in situ peracetic acid disinfectant with excellent sporicidal efficacy and colour change technology.

Day 1

After a morning full of informative talks, we gained a significant amount of interest at our stall – not
only for our goodie bags though they certainly were a bonus! We had a range of interests but our main audience was from acute and community NHS trusts and ambulance services. We discussed our
ambulance disinfection exposure testing which is essential in getting ambulances back out on the
road as quickly as possible. Acute trusts were interested in the sporicidal efficacy and cost-effectiveness
of Peracide. Spores are continuing to be an issue and Peracide has the best sporicidal kill rate available currently, with a log 7 kill in 15 seconds in heavily soiled conditions.

We also met with representatives from some publications, so keep an eye out for us!

Day 2

Tuesday was a very busy day. A particular talk in the morning presented by Professor Jean-Yves
Maillard, an industry-known pharmaceutical microbiologist, discussed the benefits of various active ingredients in disinfectants. Attendees were keen to discuss PAA in situ in the form of Peracide, and
find out how the efficacy of PAA translates to a usable product. We secured a trial in a trust,
scheduled follow-up meetings, and are getting the word out there that Peracide is the future of
disinfection.

We also had significant interest from a range of hospitals across Ireland which we very much look
forward to following up on.

Day 3

On Wednesday morning our representatives worked to ensure we’d provided interested people with
the information they need. We spoke to a wide range of attendees from public and government
organizations, private hospitals, academic staff, and many more.

On the whole, we had a very successful conference and had an enjoyable time there! Thank you
to Callum and Joe from our Healthcare Accounts team for representing our company so
professionally, and Trista from our marketing team for your hard work in putting together the stall
design and materials.
